About Easy as ABC
The goal of Easy as ABC is to help a young person learn their letters and numbers. The program uses the Macintosh’s speech and sound capabilities to make the learning process fun.
What are the computer requirements?
Easy as ABC will work on Macintosh computers with system software of MacOSX 10.3.9 and higher. It is a "Universal Binary" application so it will work on both PPC and Intel based Macs.
How do I use Easy as ABC?
Easy as ABC is simple to use. When you press the Get One button a random letter or number (the numbers are between 1 and 20) appears on the main display on the chalkboard. This is the item the young person should try to say. On letters or numbers that the child does not know yet, the young person can press the Speaker icon below the Get One button. When the Speaker icon is pressed Easy as ABC will speak the letter so the child can learn to correctly say and recognize the letter (or number).
Can Easy as ABC be fun?
Of course it can! With Easy as ABC you can practice your letters and numbers and learn at your own pace. Plus you can always enjoy the pictures and listen to the fun sounds by pressing the buttons below the pictures!

There are several preferences that will help you tailor how Easy as ABC works. The preferences are found by selecting the Preferences… menu item under the application menu and are shown below.

You have four options to configure Easy as ABC. 1) you can choose to have the letters and numbers presented randomly or alphabetically by checking/unchecking the Present in Random Order check box. 2) you can choose to show only letters, only numbers, or both by checking the appropriate box. 3) you can choose the color of the letters and numbers. 4) you can customize the voice settings with the Customize Speech Settings button.
